The Cybersecurity Centre of Excellence (CCoE) at UEM Kolkata is a premier hub for advanced research, innovation and industry collaboration in cybersecurity, AI and blockchain. Our mission is to develop cutting-edge security solutions, foster industry partnerships, train future cybersecurity leaders, and support startup incubation in this domain.
We actively engage with government agencies, global enterprises, and academia to enhance cybersecurity resilience. Through research publications, certifications, hackathons, and community outreach, we aim to bridge the gap between academia and real-world cybersecurity challenges.
Our vision is to reduce vulnerability in our national information infrastructure. Our aims are to be at the forefront of cybersecurity innovation, cooperate with government and business organizations, and develop a highly qualified workforce committed to safeguarding and improving the availability, confidentiality, and integrity of vital information systems on a national and worldwide scale.
The mission of the CCoE is to
- Contribute to meeting the nation’s cybersecurity defense research and education needs.
- Promote higher education and research in cyber-defence and produce professionals with cyber-defence expertise for the Nation.
- Lead and advance cybersecurity research at UEM, and at national and international levels.
- Serve as UEM’s hub for interdisciplinary research in cybersecurity; organize national and international conferences; workshops and scientific meetings with all stakeholders, other Universities, and industry and government representatives.
- Collaborate with related industries to enhance knowledge about the growing industry needs in cybersecurity and work towards establishment of Industry Institute Partnership programs.
Major Activities
Research & Innovation – Conducting cutting-edge research in AI security, blockchain applications, digital forensics, and cyber-defense. Publications in Scopus-indexed journals and Springer book series.
Start-up Incubation – Supporting cybersecurity startups with mentorship, funding, and resources. Encouraging innovation and entrepreneurship in cybersecurity.
Training & Certifications – Offering industry-driven courses, hands-on cybersecurity training, certifications, and specialized bootcamps.
Government & Industry Collaborations – Partnering with enterprises, government agencies, and international institutions for cybersecurity advancements. MOUs signed with global partners like Ixonn (Australia) and Cisco (Australia).
Events & Hackathons – Organizing international conferences (eHaCON 2024), ethical hacking summits, cybersecurity awareness campaigns, and hackathons.
Outreach & Community Engagement – Conducting awareness programs, public-private partnerships, and community engagement initiatives to educate individuals and businesses about cybersecurity threats and best practices.
